On Saturday, 6 June 2026, Bahna 2026 – Land Forces Day of the Army of the Czech Republic will take place in the Zadní Bahna area near Strašice. This traditional event will offer a full-day programme for the public, dynamic demonstrations of military equipment, presentations of Land Forces capabilities, static displays, historical scenes, foreign military equipment, and activities for children and families. Among the main attractions of this year’s event will be the newly introduced CV90 infantry fighting vehicle and the Leopard 2A4 tank, which will be presented both in a static display and during a dynamic demonstration.

Bahna is one of the most important public presentation events of the Army of the Czech Republic. This year’s edition will present the Land Forces as a modern, prepared and professional component of the Army of the Czech Republic. Visitors will see military equipment in motion, soldiers operating in the field, demonstrations of the capabilities of different branches of the armed forces, historical scenes, flyovers, paratroopers and cooperation among units of the Army of the Czech Republic.

The programme will combine dynamic demonstrations, static displays, presentations of individual units and the opportunity to meet soldiers up close. The aim of the event is to show the public not only military equipment, but above all the people, training, expertise and cooperation on which the ability of the Land Forces to fulfil their tasks in the defence of the Czech Republic and within allied commitments is based.

Modernisation in Motion: CV90 and Leopard 2A4

The newly introduced CV90 infantry fighting vehicle will attract significant attention. For visitors, it will be an opportunity to see equipment that will become an important part of the heavy mechanised units of the Land Forces in the coming years. The CV90 represents one of the key modernisation projects and symbolises the strengthening of mobility, soldier protection, firepower and the ability to operate in the demanding conditions of the modern battlefield.

The Leopard 2A4 tank will also be presented at the event, both in a static display and during a dynamic demonstration. Visitors will be able to view it up close as part of the static exhibition and will also see it in motion during the main programme. The participation of the Leopard 2A4 tank in the dynamic demonstration will offer one of the strongest visual moments of the day and will show the capabilities of heavy equipment in practice.

This year’s event will also include the participation of foreign partners. Poland will present the K2 Black Panther tank, the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle, the Rosomak-L armoured personnel carrier and the Homar-K mobile rocket launcher. Austria will bring the Pandur EVO armoured vehicle. The participation of foreign partners underlines the allied dimension of the event and demonstrates the importance of cooperation in strengthening defence capabilities.

“Bahna is an opportunity to show the public that the Land Forces are not just about equipment. They are above all trained soldiers, experienced crews, specialists and commanders who work every day to be ready to fulfil their tasks in the defence of the Czech Republic and within the Alliance,” said Major General Josef Trojánek, Commander of the Land Forces.

The event is intended for the general public, families with children, military equipment enthusiasts, those interested in serving in the Army of the Czech Republic and the media. The programme will also include a visitor and children’s zone. For the youngest visitors, activities such as an orienteering run, an obstacle course, an airsoft shooting range and a water gate will be prepared.

“We want to show visitors what today’s land forces look like, what capabilities they are developing and how important cooperation is between individual units and allies. Bahna is also a place where the army meets the public, families, young people and military equipment enthusiasts,” added Major Richard Maňásek, Press and Information Officer from the Land Forces Headquarters.

Information for the Media

A separate media programme will be prepared for accredited media representatives. Media representatives are advised to arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 in order to complete registration, collect accreditation, prepare equipment and familiarise themselves with the event area.

Media representatives will be able to process texts, photographs, video recordings and other visual materials on site. An air-conditioned room equipped with tables and chairs will be available, along with access to the electricity network and an area for conducting interviews by prior coordination with the media team.

The official opening of the event will take place from 10:00 to 10:20.
